The Leadership Team

Whilst we believe all christians are "in ministry", some people receive a special calling from God that is confirmed by the effectiveness of their ministry and gifting and by the witness of others. Of course, in a small church we often have to carry out many duties that are not our primary calling or gifting.

All of our ministry team work for no pay and many balance their church roles with busy work and family commitments. All believe in the work of the church and the transforming power of Jesus to touch and transform people's lives.

Alan has been an ordained minister of Churches of Christ for 60 years! He started off in Youth work before the Second World War then trained as a missionary before being sent to India. On his return to the UK, he built a church in Strathclyde and has been building churches ever since!   Much of the current church has been rebuilt, or built from scratch by Alan and his dedicated building team of volunteers.

Phill was ordained in 2000. He is a qualified Project Manager and FE Teacher and works part-time for Coventry Unviersity.  He is passionate about preaching the gospel and teaching and is also heavilly involved in pastoral care. Phill is also part of the National Leadership Team of the Fellowship of Churches of Christ and had the honour to be President of Conference.

Carol Wallace-Pugh (Deacon)

Carol has been involved with the Wigston Church of Christ since the 1980s. She concentrates on pastoral care and particularly likes working with people with learning disabilties and has recently started working with youth. Carol is married to Phill and works for the University of Leicester Library Services.
