Becoming a member | Working with us | Opportunities to Serve | Policies and Procedures | MembersIf you have been worshipping with us for some time, you may be thinking about joining us. We would love you to join us and become a full member of the church. How do I become a member of the cacc? Have a word with one of the leaders of the church. If you would like, one of the leaders can meet with you to discuss the matter and pray with you to see if becoming a member is the right hting for you. What does being a member entail? Being a member allows you to vote at the AGM and have more say in the running of the church. Whilst we encourage everyone to take an active part in the church, there are some roles and jobs (for legal or ethical reasons) that can only be open to members of the church. We would hope that as a member, you would commit yourself to the life of the church and take more of a part in helping out and utilising your gifts to serve God, the church and the community. We would also hope you would seriously think about what financial contribution you could make to help with the costs of running the church. But the amount is between you and God. What are the criteria for membership? The most important thing is that you should have made a personal commitment to Jesus. If you have come from another Christian tradition, that's fine, but you do need to agree wiht the general way the church is run, what we stand for and what we do. You should have undergone Believer's Baptism. If you have come to us from another Christian tradition, you should have been confirmed or undergone a similar undertaking when old enough to make a decision for yourself. The important thing, is that you have made a definite commitment to Jesus at some point in your life. If you have not undergone Believer's Baptism, but want to know more about it, speak to one of the leaders. You can transfer your membership from another church to us as well. You should have been worshipping with us regularly for a minimum of 6 months. Of course, even if you don't feel able to become a full member of cacc, you are still welcome to be part of our church family. Everyone is welcome to worship with us and to fellowhsip with us. |
