LATEST 

  • 31/01 Phill has resigned from his secular job as a Project Manager at Coventry University after 18 years there and will be going into Ministry full-time at Central Avenue in March.
  • 08/01 Sunday Night Live at Costa Coffee in Oadby. Monthly on the 1st Sunday of the month (normally) from 7pm - 9pm. Music with a twist of faith. The main speaker was Jan talking about her life and miracle. Music provided by Kevin Yates with singing by his daughter Hannah.

DECEMBER

  • 03/12, 5.00pm Christmas Buffet. A lovely evening. We served over 50 people wit a Christmas Buffet
  • 04/12, 10.30am Nativity Service. An all age nativity play with masks.
  • 11/12, 5.00pm Carols by Candlelight. Our traditional 9 lessons and carols to candlelight. followed by coffee and mince pies. 
  • 17/12, 10am - 1pm Christmas Coffee Morning. Raised £100 for a very special cause this year. 
  • 18/12, 10.30 Chritmas Triangle Service. The service was led by our friends in the causeway Prospects Triangle Group. 
  • 18/12, 6.30pm Premier Christian Radio World Record Carol Service. Unfortunately, we didn't get enough people to be officially counted in the attempt. 
  • 23/12, 11.30am Informal Community Carol Service and party. An informal carol service for our friends in Central Avenue Community Link. 
  • 24/12, 11.00pm Coffee and Mince Pies, 11.30 Christmas Eve Communion Service
  • 25/12, 10am - 11am Christmas Morning Communion Service

NOVEMBER

  •  26/11 Fellowship National Prayer Day at CACC. Members from many of our churches gathered to pray for the fellowship as a whole. 
  • 25/11 No Fun Night but putting up Christmas decorations
  • 13/11 Remembrance Day Service
  • 04/11 Bonfire Night themed Family Fun Night. A great night with fun games and plenty of party food. 

OCTOBER

  • 29/10 Christmas Programme will be published during the first week of november. Lots going on including carol services, Christmas Buffet etc.
  • 21/10 Family Fun Night
  • 07/10 Family Fun Night
  • 02/10 Harvest Service and Supper. The harvest display looked really nice again this year and we raised nearly £200 for church funds at the harvest Supper. Well done to everyone for all their hard work.
  • 30/09 the Church receives a "5 - Very Good" (top) rating from Oadby and Wigston Council as part of the National Food Hygiene Scheme for our Food Safety and Hygiene standards. Well done everyone! Now we have t keep it up!
  • 25/09 Remember the Harvest Supper next Sunday. Please bring harvest produce by Saturday morning.
  • 25/09 Back to Church Sunday - a day to think about those who no longer come to church and to invite them back.

    SEPTEMBER

    AUGUST

    • 27/08 Cream teas. We raised over £40. Well done to everyone who was involved.
    • 06/08 Congratulations to Heather and Mark on the occasion of their wedding and well done to everyone who helped to organise and run the day (especially Carol, Angela, Sandra, Sylvia, Alan & Rene)

    JULY

    • 23/07 We are pleased to announce that Central Avenue Community Link will be starting to operate at the church from the 1st August working with people with learning disabilities from the local community. The new service as part of the Government's "Big Society" approach to social care is run by D&H Community services (Rob and Steve) in partnership with the church. The group will operate from the Rear Hall from 9am until 4pm Monday to Friday each week. We are working closely together with Rob and Steve to make this project work and become a real blessing to the local community in general. There are places for volunteers to help. If you are interested, either speak with Rob or Steve or mention it to Phill, Alan or Jan who will get you in contact.

    JUNE

    • 19/06 Fathers day service. Thanks to Marie-Anne who took her first Sunday School class! A lovely service. Jan spoke on a New Mind. Video to follow.
    • 18/06 thank you to the NLT who came to pray with us about our Vision.
    • 17/06 A fantastic Family Fun Night. We had racing, we had tennis and we had a fancy hat competition. (1st Prze to Jess). Well done everyone who contributed to make it such a great success.
    • 14/06 Church broken into on Monday night. Thankfully, nothing was taken despite thieves trying to break into the church office. One of the fire extinguishers was set off. A reminder for everyone who uses the building to remain vigilent and ensure the building is secure when you leave.

    • 12/06 Next Saturday (18/06) we are hosting a prayer afternoon, facilitated by the national leadership of the fellowship. We will be tking the opportunity to pray for the church and in particular, the new vision we are waiting on the Lord for.
    • 12/06 Remember our family Fun Night next Friday. The theme is "Ascot" and "Wimbledon", so there will be tennis and racing games along with strawberries, scones and other goodies. Cost £1.
    • 10/06 "Forgiveness" Videos from the Womens conference are now available. Go to the Special Events tab (on the right of the screen) and click on he links. This will bring up the video in a YouTube window.
    • 05/06 Vision day 2011. Our last major vision day (seven years ago) saw the dream of staying in Central Avenue and rebuilding the church building. We have now fulfilled that vision and are looking forward to the Lord leading us forwards over the next five years. As par tof the process of vision casting that has been going on since lent, our Vision day was to verbalise our dreams no matter how impractical they might appear. itwas a day of "What" rather than "How". We will be having a prayer Da on Saturday 18th June facilitated by our national leadership team to wait on the Lord to see what of these dreams He really wants us to pursue before we start asking the "How" questions. Many thansk to mary Ann and Bruce, who were there with David and Teressa Fittro seven years ago and have helped us through this first stage of re-visioning.
    • 05/06 A fond farewell to Mary Ann and Bruce Robertson who have doen so much for us during their stay here. We will miss them greatly and look forward to their next trip. A big thank you to the ladies of the church in Pennsylvania who also made the lovely tapestry. We will be in contact with you soon!
    • 05/06 Disability Sunday. Triangle (our group for people with learning difficulties organised and ran the service yesterday in a cafe style. It was a multi-sensory service and was enjoyed by everybody. Would would like to thank Alan and leslie for the fantastic painting of the church which we will frame and get up on the wall soon.
    • 05/06 The first videos of the Womens Conference held at the church on saturday 29th May are now uploaded. The "Welcome" session and most of the session on "Forgiveness" is now available on You Tube. If you navigate to the "Special Events" tab on our website you will find some links. Simply click on the link you want and teh video will play! We will try and get the rest of the videos uploaded as soon as we can.
    • 04/06 Why not catch Jan on Premier Christian Radio at 4pm on Sunday. She is speaking on "Disability Sunday" and integrating people with learning disabilities. there is a link on the Home page that will take you there if you don't have a digital radio. 04/06 Remember our Vision day tomorrow afternoon (5th) after lunch.
    • 04/06 Remember Disability Sunday tomorrow (5th). A very special service run entirely by our friedns from our Causeway Prospects group "Triangle", with a little help from Jan, Angela, and Sylvia.

    • 02/06 Friday 03/06 9.30am Stress Management part 2 - postponed from last Friday will now run this Friday. The conclusion of Mary Ann Robertson's course on stress management.
    • 01/06 Remember our Vision day, after lunch on Sunday. 

    MAY

    • 28/05 Womens Conference on Self Esteem and Forgiveness in partnership with Bethel Bookshop went really well. Many thanks to everyone who helped organise, prepare and run the day. The event was videod and is being put up on YouTube in 10 minute segments. Details to follow.
    • 27/05 Kyle and Mindy Duncan have had a baby boy - Abel Stanly - 8lb 13oz. Best wishes from us all here.
    • 27/05 9.30am Stress Management part 2 - postponed until next Friday.
    • 15/05 Remember the Womens Conference at the church next Saturday (28th May). If you want to attend, contact Carol.
    • 13/05 American Family Fun night. A great night with lots of fun and games and American delicacies such as hot Dogs, cheesey nachos and mini doughnuts! 
    • 13/05 Stress Management course with Mary Ann and Bruce was a grat success and sa a result will run again next Friday!
    • 11/05 First Dream team at Rose's group. A lovely evening of Fellowship (food of course!) and dreaming dreams of what we feel God may be calling us as individuals and as a church to do in the community.
    • 07/05 Family Fun Night. A great night of fun and games for young and not so young!
    • 05/05 Mary Ann and Bruce Robertson arrive in the UK. They will be working with the Fellowship over the next month and we are fortunate to have a number of events set up with them here at CACC.

    APRIL

    • 30/04 FCC Conference "Not Ashamed" at CACC. Around 90 people attended and the day was inspirational and uplifting. I would personally like to thank everyone from CACC who worked so hard in hosting the event for the fellowship and meant that virtually nobody got to actually enjoy the events of the day as tehy were working so hard looking affter everyone else.
    • EASTER SUNDAY: The Lord is Risen! He is Risen indeed! Hallelujah! Happy Easter to all our friends. May God richly bless you at this special time!
    • 23/04 Alan is now home again.
    • 22/04 We had a lovely Good Friday morning and plenty of Hot Cross buns afterwards.
    • 21/04 News about Alan: Alan is back in hospital as he is having a few problems, please continue to pray for his speedy recovery.
    • Coming up - Good Friday Service, 9am, Good Friday morning. A quiet and reflective service for Good Friday followed by the Coffee Bar with free Hot Cross Buns.
    • Easter Sunday Morning Breakfast. 8.30am Cost £3 or £2 concessions (Bacon, suasage, egg, tinned toms, beans, mushrooms, toast, cereal and orange juice all on offer).
    • 16/04 News on Alan. He is now at home and hopes to be with us for the Good Friday Morning service.
    • 15/04 7pm Family Fun Night - Easter games. A great evening was had by all.
    • 14/04 5pm I saw Alan today. He is doing well and hopes to be home in the next couple of days. He passes on his thanks to everyone for their prayers and best wishes.
    • 11/04 4pm Latest update on Alan. He has had the operation and got through that Ok and spoken with Rene already. She is going to visit him tonight.
    • 10/04 Please pray for Alan who is going into hospital today for heart surgery on Monday afternoon. We will keep you posted with updates.
    • 03/04 Mothering Sunday Communion Service. A lovely service and the kids made Mothering Sunday gifts for all the ladies in the church. 

    MARCH

    • 26/03

      What an amazing day. The church was totally packed for the whole event with between 350 and 400 people coming through the doors during the day. There were loads of stalls representing allsorts of voluntary organisations, groups and faith communities,. Various workshops were running, and there were dance and fitness dis...plays too. We were making teas and coffess in the rear hall and finished with just 3 disposable foam cups left out of 200, not counting the plastic cups we used for cold drinks! Alan and Rene were providing jacket potatoes in the coffee bar. A fantastic event!

    • 26/03 "Altogether" Fee Community event at the church 11am - 3pm. Local charities and voluntary organisations, displays, workshops (Flower arranging, chappati making, patchwork etc) and various activities including laughter yoga, indian dancing and Zumba! Light refreshments available.
    • 19/03 We made nearly £50 for Comic Relief on Friday night and expect to raise the total above £50 tomorrow. Well done to everyone involved. We had a great time with lots of very silly games. WE RAISED £70 IN TOTAL!
